Help for consumers wanting better banking

This guide outlines what rights you have as a bank customer in Australia. Banks offer a wide range of financial products and services. When you use these products and services, you are a consumer; just as you are when you shop at a supermarket or eat at a restaurant – and you have consumer’s rights and responsibilities. This booklet helps you understand those rights and responsibilities which can empower consumers in their dealings with banks. It includes rights and responsibilities which are set out in law and codes of practice.
